In partnership with Louisiana State University, The Rapides and Orchard Foundations as well as nine rural Louisiana parishes, Advanced Learning Partnerships was the lead PD provider for Central Louisiana Academic Residency for Teachers (CART), a $16 million Teacher Quality Partnerships award winner in 2009. This innovative alternative teacher certification program was the only rural residency / lab model funded by the United States Department of Education.

For four consecutive years, ALP instructional coaches applied ClassTalk® to provide cutting-edge instructional support to 120 new teacher residents and their mentor teachers in math and science classrooms throughout 20 Louisiana high schools. This level of coaching has and will continue to dramatically improve the instructional capacity within these high-need schools to produce students who enroll in and pass Advanced Placement classes that didn’t exist before the program’s inception.

Throughout the 5 year grant project, ALP delivered extensive classroom coaching through over 1000 ClassTalk ® sessions. This innovative coaching model has generated significant demand across districts.

“I have never been challenged or grown more professionally than through ClassTalkTM. Seeing classroom video footage along with [the ALP coach’s] feedback helped me see, hear and sense my classroom in a new light. No other professional development comes close to this."— Math Department Chair, Central Louisiana
