learn more about our journey
The ALP team has spent a lot of time, effort, and energy on the road. But what have we done? Below we share our Field Notes to demonstrate our passion, commitment to collaborate, and success in our diverse work and achievements.
Field Notes: instructional development
Our Institutes and Training Programs help educators at all levels of the district integrate and maximize effective use of new technology while refining curriculum, assessment, and instructional resources. Our intensive training programs range from 2 to 10 day formats and are customized to deliver deep learning across staff and district personnel.
For the past 5 years, ALP has partnered with Dell to support a decade-long partnership with a large Virginia school district that is one of the country’s longest running 1:1 districts. This work has catalyzed a number of innovations in teaching and learning.
Dell and ALP have partnered very closely with a highly innovative district to ensure not only a responsive deployment of 1:1 devices but a powerful transformation in the role adult learning plays within and between all school sites.
Field Notes: Transformation and Leadership
Advanced Learning Partnerships offers comprehensive visioning services that help stakeholders throughout the entire education community participate in productive conversations as well as develop a shared understanding and common goals.
From a comprehensive process that involves a deep needs assessment, detailed planning and implementation process, and results-anchored reporting, we have helped districts across the U.S. find success in technology integration.
field notes: virtual and Blended professional learning
From 2010 to 2014, a large school district in Georgia, ALP, and Dell Computers partnered to bring enhanced technology and blended/personalized learning environments to all students, faculty, and district leaders.
In collaboration with the Michigan Department of Education and Dell, Advanced Learning Partnerships has developed and is currently implementing a portfolio of virtual courses for educators across the State.
field notes: alternative metrics
ALP's Classroom-based Action Research Reporting (CARR) tool provides educators with a step-by-step process for conducting research in the classroom. Educators can find support for new instruction strategies, education models, or technology by clarifying their goals, gathering evidence for impact on learning, reflecting on and sharing findings with colleagues.
Given ALP’s coaching model, we needed a tool to focus on creativity and innovation, 21st Century Skills, personalized learning, and formative assessment. We developed and validated the Profile for Innovative Educators (PIE) as a streamlined digital tool that facilitates educator choice, reflection, and collaboration with colleagues in professional learning.
ClassTalk ® is an intensive coaching process that involves ongoing communication, observation, modeling, and recorded instruction analysis. ALP's detailed reporting includes embedded instruction video analysis, strategic goal planning and assessment, and professional growth trends.
Instructional leaders have described their involvement in Reflective Friends as among the most ‘practical’, ‘powerful’ and ‘collaborative leadership' development exercises they have experienced.
